At SOAR’s GAP Year, our facilities aren’t just places to stay — they’re the foundation for a transformative year of growth. From supportive dorms and shared kitchens to outdoor gear and expedition-ready resources — every corner of our facilities is designed to help young adults with ADHD, ASD, or LD build real-world skills, confidence, and lasting memories.

Our facilities provide a safe, comfortable environment where participants can learn independence, responsibility, and socialization with their peers. The space is designed to support learning, independent living, and preparation for adulthood.
From comfortable accommodations to resources for expeditions and programs, everything works to ensure that young people with neurodiverse backgrounds feel confident, supported, and inspired. It’s not just a temporary home, but a launching pad for self-development, friendship, and adventure.

Our facilities give space for daily living — cooking, cleaning, personal organization — while staff support helps you build life skills in a safe, guided environment.

Shared spaces encourage social connection, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging — essential for young adults with ADHD, ASD, or LD learning to navigate independence together.

With access to gear, transportation, and safe expedition support, our facilities are not just dorms — they’re launch pads for wilderness trips, travel, and hands-on experiences that build confidence and resilience.
Our shared living spaces are designed to feel warm, comfortable, and supportive. Participants learn to navigate roommate routines, maintain their spaces, and balance personal independence with group living.
Staff are always nearby to help with processing, organization, and emotional support — creating a steady environment where confidence grows day by day.

In Bozeman and other program locations, participants take full ownership of their meals: choosing recipes, shopping for ingredients, staying within a group budget, prepping food, and cleaning together. With staff guiding when needed, students practice time management, responsibility and planning — turning everyday tasks into long-term life skills.
This is where students truly feel their independence taking shape. It’s practical, real, and incredibly empowering.

Because so much of GAP happens outdoors, our facilities include everything needed for safe and exciting travel: camping gear, storage, prep areas, and logistical support. Participants might begin with several days of camping in Yellowstone National Park, focusing on teamwork and group development. As the course continues, they’ll help plan activities, collaborate on logistics, and make choices based on budgets and time constraints — learning independence through action, not theory.
