About SOAR SUMMER CAMP
SOAR Summer Camp: Fun, Friendship & Self-Discovery
SOAR has taken everything we know about the characteristics of LD and ADHD and designed a program that removes obstacles while building in springboards for success.
The SOAR Team is trained to understand and work with the specific characteristics common to our population, such as impulsivity, organizational challenges, lack of social skills, low frustration tolerance, etc. We use techniques such as redirection, natural & logical consequences, social autopsies, and behavioral self-analysis to help our participants develop greater self-awareness and coping skills for managing their specific set of ADHD characteristics.

Why SOAR?
A Program Designed for Confidence, Independence, and Real-World Skills
Many kids with ADHD and/or learning differences struggle in traditional settings. They may feel misunderstood, frustrated, or left behind. Through hands-on experiences and structured adventure, kids at SOAR build confidence, resilience, and real-world skills.
For 45 years, we’ve helped kids grow into their strengths at home, in school, and in life.

Build Strength & Skills: Growing Confidence from the Inside Out
Personalized Support. Real Connections. Meaningful Growth
Many campers come to SOAR knowing much more about their areas of challenge and frustration than they do about their strengths and abilities.
SOAR encourages them to focus on identifying and developing their talents and abilities by pointing out their successes throughout the course, by highlighting their strengths during one-on-one and group discussions, and by helping them internalize these strengths through public acknowledgements and self-affirmations.

Nurturing Confidence in Small Groups
Unlike a traditional camp SOAR’s ADHD summer camps maintain a low camper to staff ratio, usually 6-8 participants per group with a 2 instructor staff team. In addition, each course is also supervised by a Course Director who maintains daily contact with each group and is there to assist field staff as needed.
The small group setting allows SOAR staff to guide campers through social interactions as they get to know one another and begin forming friendships.
